Slusarczyk Additive (pronounced: \shloo-SAR-chik\) is a consulting and publishing company based in Lodz, Poland, in Central Europe. Founded in 2015 as CD3D (and later renamed COLORISED), it is one of the longest-running and most distinguished companies in the Polish 3D printing industry, though its activities are global in scope.
The company’s origins date back to January 2013, when Pawel Slusarczyk – a manager with over a decade of experience in the IT and advertising sectors, founded Centrum Druku 3D (3D Printing Center), a blog dedicated to additive technologies. As it soon turned out, it became a cornerstone of Poland’s emerging AM industry.
In 2014, Anna Slusarczyk joined the team, and together with Pawel, they created several landmark projects. The 3DP Companies Database was the place where every major Polish AM company made its debut. The 3D Printers Database allowed people to explore the printers available on the Polish market, particularly those built by Polish designers and entrepreneurs. The CD3D Industry Awards was the world’s first plebiscite recognizing companies, people, events, and products each year.
In May 2015, they established the CD3D company as the blog’s publisher, also offering training and consulting services. It also organized AM conferences and trade fairs. Pawel and Anna helped promote and grow many notable Polish brands on the international stage, including Zortrax, Zmorph, Sinterit, 3DGence, Spectrum Filaments, Fiberlogy, and ATO Atomizers, among others.
Beyond this, the company pursued other, more ambitious projects.
In 2018–2020, the company undertook an independent research and development project that resulted in the creation of SKAFFOSYS, the first Polish commercial bioprinter. The bioprinter had its world premiere in March 2019, alongside the announcement of the Open Bioprinting Cluster and the CD3D Medical brand.
A total of 21 SKAFFOSYS bioprinters were installed at the Laboratory of Molecular and Nanostructural Biophysics at Bionanopark in Lodz, Poland. The project received support from the Center for Molecular and Macromolecular Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Unfortunately, despite very promising traction, the project had to be suspended due to the inability to secure further funding amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, it remains the first and most ambitious independent bioprinting project in Poland to date, developed outside academic institutions.
In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Pawel and Anna were among the leaders of a nationwide 3D printing movement that produced protective face shields for healthcare workers. The company also became the official European producer and distributor of Copper3D’s NANOHACK 2.0 antibacterial protective masks. The project was promoted by Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 2023, disillusioned with the 3D printing industry both in Poland and worldwide, Pawel and Anna decided to leave the field and pursue other projects. The Centrum Druku 3D website was sold to private investors, and the company changed its name from CD3D to COLORISED. For over a year, this brand was used to promote and sell interior finishing products from a sister company, GREENFILL3D – including eco-friendly lampshades and lighting accessories, among others.
In mid-2024, however, Pawel returned to commenting on AM, first on LinkedIn and then on Substack, becoming a leading voice exposing the industry’s crisis after years of self-deception about its own significance. His key publications – the 3DP War Journal and The 3D Printing Journal, shifted the narrative toward greater honesty.
He also began documenting the history of the 3D printing industry and market, which earned him international recognition and the title of the unofficial 3D printing historian.
In January 2025, Anna rejoined to co-create The 3D Printing World Guide. Today, under the name Slusarczyk Additive, they produce uncompromising market reports focused on countries the industry often overlooks.
